New Sensory Program for Families

The Attleboro Library is pleased to announce that we are hosting a new sensory program for children and their families.  One Thursday evening a month, Mrs. Brown will host “Sensory Play & Stories” for kids of all ages and their adult.  Enjoy activities to engage your child’s sense of sight, touch, movement, balance & hearing.  Play-dough, puzzles, instruments, the sand or rice table and bubble wrap are just some of the rotating activities. Some of the activities can get a little messy, but they are all lots of fun!

“Children of all abilities and ages need and benefit from sensory-based play.  It allows them to connect ideas with concrete experiences, it stimulates the brain which helps strengthen neural pathways, and it helps develop fine and gross motor skills.” (ALSC blog 11/16).  The interactive format of this program will help teach children about their world, encourage new ways of looking at things and strengthen the bond between the child and caregiver all while having fun.

The next two dates for this new program are May 23 and June 20 from 6:30-7:30. Drop by anytime during the hour and get ready to explore your senses!
