Typically at this time of year, the library announces its Summer Hours. This small change means that the building is only open until 1:30pm on Saturdays. However, when Fiscal Year 2027 starts on July 1st, the library’s new hours will be:
Monday 8:30am-8:30pm
Tuesday 8:30am-4:30pm
Wednesday 8:30am-8:30pm
Thursday 12:30-8:30pm
Friday 8:30am-4:30pm
Saturday 8:30am-1:30pm
These hours will remain the same for the entire year. City budget cuts have required that “summer Saturday” hours are now year round.
While the library did have one position cut, the staff member in that role will be taking over a different job in the building. The friendly, welcoming team at the Circulation Desk will all be working less hours so patrons will see more full time staff working at the front desk. Please be patient, we are all juggling multiple priorities while serving the public!
If you are interested in the details of the proposed FY27 budget, a print copy is available for use in the building at the Reference Desk. The budget is also posted online on the city’s website. The public hearing for the city’s FY27 budget is Tuesday, June 2nd.
