While many people are out shopping and decorating, APL staff are busy showcasing resources for helping you make the most of the winter season. Whether you want holiday movies (on the first floor), or crafty how-to books (on the third floor), or games to play with your friends and family (second floor), we hope to have just what you need. When you can’t visit the building, visit us online. Services like Creativebug provide video classes, Kanopy offers streaming movies with no holds list, and Consumer Reports helps you make the most of your money.
Just want to read a good book? We’ve got that, too! Displays of both popular and well known seasonal titles are available for both children and adults. December is a great time to chat with library staff and get personalized recommendations. You can also email us using this online form.
December is also about helping others and one popular way to help the community is to contribute to the Food for Fines campaign. When you donate ANY amount of non-perishable food to the library, your overdue fines are waived and a local agency receives food to distribute to those who need it. We accept food donations in lieu of money through January 4.
If you’d like to be among the first to know about these, and other happenings at the library, you can subscribe to our monthly newsletter HERE.
The library will be closed for the following holidays on Tuesday, December 24, Wednesday, December 25 and Wednesday, January 1. The library will close as usual, at 4:30pm, on Tuesday, January 31.
