Have you noticed something new when coming in to the Children’s Room? It’s a place where adults and children can explore new concepts with hands-on activities, a display for kids ages 3 and up that kids are not only allowed to touch, but also encouraged to use over and over again.
For the last three months, a “Try This!” table has been set up in the Children’s Room for visitors to explore. This table was created by local Girl Scout, Meghan Lewis, as part of her silver award. She designed, built and decorated a child sized table perfect for use in the Children’s Room.
The “Try This!” table is located right near the Children’s Room desk. Each month, a different activity is featured. Each activity includes a short explanation on how to use it. The only rule is that patrons need to leave all of the supplies at the table. So far, we’ve explored weights with a balance scale, building with paper and insects. Wait until you see what else is planned!
The activity changes every month, so be sure to stop by often to “Try This!”
