There’s a new reference librarian at the APL and she is looking forward to being a part of the Attleboro community. Amy Rosa is a Taunton native, currently residing in North Providence with her husband and daughter. She received her MLS at Indiana University and has worked at many libraries in various roles, most recently the Milton Public Library as their Young Adult Librarian and Reference. She enjoys reading Young Adult (YA) Literature and Science Fiction, yoga, rock climbing, and attending story times with her daughter.
When she was younger, Amy fell in love with the Little House on the Prairie books written by Laura Ingalls Wilder. This is the first series that she got hooked on. Amy loved being able to watch the characters grow and remembers never wanting to let them go. To this day, Amy loves discovering a good series with a great main character that she can get attached to and escape to their world. Looking for your next great read? Amy loves answering reader’s advisory questions and talking books with patrons.
Truly the hallmark of a dedicated reference librarian, Amy thoroughly enjoys being able to find that answer a patron has been looking for, whether it is spur of the moment curiosity or something they have been pursuing for some time. Amy’s specialties include help with e-resources and technology. She likes to keep up on current blogs with young adult topics and programs.
Amy has been known to answer patron questions while out and about. “Did you know you can download that e-book for free through the library?” or “Did you know the library is having an event this weekend?” When you have a question that you just can’t seem to get the right answer to, stop by the reference department on our second floor, and see what the staff there can do to help you out!
