HOW TO PARTICIPATE!

CHILDREN (families with children age 3 through entering 4th grade)

Visit the Children’s Room and pick up your colorful reading log! Fill in a circle for every day that you read (or are read to) for at least 20 minutes or more.

Logging your reading time earns awesome prizes:

– Ten (10) days of reading for 20 minutes or more: A book plate with your name in a new picture book in the Children’s Room.
– Twenty-five (25) days of reading for 20 minutes or more: A Star Reader lawn sign! This sign lets everyone know what a great reader you are–wow!
– Forty (40) or more days of reading for 20 minutes or more: You will be entered into a drawing for one of multiple grand prizes.

TWEENS & TEENS entering grades 5-12

Calling all students entering grades 5 to 12! There are two fun ways for you to participate:

[1] Log your reading using this Google form, or use the QR code located below. Log at least 300 minutes of reading during the summer to be entered into the grand prize drawing! The first 25 youth to log 300 minutes of reading will also receive an APL Super Reader lawn sign (limited to one per family)!

[2] Visit the APL for a daily scratch ticket! Stop by the Children’s Room desk to request one. Your ticket might be an instant winner, for prizes like a book, a gift card, a mystery box, or other small items. All non-winning tickets may be filled out and returned to be entered into a grand prize drawing at the end of the summer.

There will also be weekly, fun summer events to attend, including craft club meetings (for example, button making), game nights (trivia and an escape room), Dungeons and Dragons sessions, and book groups! APL’s event calendar has program descriptions and includes registration instructions.

ADULTS

We haven’t forgotten our “oldest” summer readers! You can have fun, too! As in previous years, we’ve created a Summer Book Bingo card to help you discover new books, movies, music, and programs. Let us know how your summer reading is going by answering a few easy questions in this Google form.

You can win prizes both by entering information on the form weekly, and by turning in your bingo card at the end of the summer. Complete the weekly form by Friday of each week, and turn in all completed bingo cards either in person, or via email to dschillinger@sailsinc.org by Friday, August 16.

For weekly prompts and ideas, keep an eye on our social media accounts (Facebook and Instagram), and on the bulletin boards on the first floor of the library. And check out our Event Calendar to see the many events (e.g., adult crafts, book groups, author talks and lectures) that we are hosting for adults this summer!

This year’s summer reading fun is sponsored by the Attleboro Public Library, the Friends of Attleboro Library, the Massachusetts Library System, the Boston Bruins, and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, Read, Renew, Repeat © 2024, iREAD
