February 2-April 30, 2026

Reading Dragons & Friends is a FREE, fun way to motivate kids iin grades K through 6 to build positive reading habits! This card-based program was developed by the Dover Public Library and levels the playing field for readers of every ability by rewarding them for time spent reading. This is a great program for children who love to read as well as those who may find reading difficult.

What are Reading Dragons and how do they motivate kids to read?

Reading Dragons are collectible cards featuring the different stages of a dragon that are earned by reading. Children log the time they spend reading in 30 minute increments until they reach 2 hours. After each hour, they can bring in their tracker to the Children’s Room at either the Attleboro Library, the North Attleboro Library or the Plainville Library to receive their next card. Children can read at their own pace for a total of 8 hours each month.

Register in person at one of the following libraries– Attleboro, North Attleboro or Plainville to start your child’s mythical journey! The Sooner you register, the more cards kids can collect!
