After a fun-filled summer, the idea of going back to school may not be at the top of the list for students in grades K-12. However, a team representing downtown Attleboro organizations and businesses has been working to make the return to the classroom an exciting time – filled with community connection and support for downtown Attleboro’s small businesses.
Celebrate Back to School in downtown Attleboro on Saturday, August 22, 2026 10am – 1 pm with a buffet of local activities: featuring dance classes, martial arts demonstrations, arts experiences, facilities tours, activity fairs, deals, and the chance to win prizes. See what Downtown has to offer for your students for the fall!
Students must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Celebrate Back-to-School is not a drop-off program.
Attleboro Public Library, 74 North Main Street. Join the Friends of the Attleboro Public Library to engrave pencils, participate in a school supply swap and preview the FREE services available to students at the library. Staff from the Attleboro Public Schools will be available to answer questions and distribute materials. Backpacks donated by Sodexho, while supplies last! Parents – if you show that you have downloaded the Rooms app and the Aspen app, you can win a prize!
Attleboro Recreation Department, Bartek Recreation Center 81 Pine Street. Experience all the offerings of the Rec Department, from youth sports, to arts and crafts, to homework help at the Rec Department’s Open House. Additionally, we will be hosting Touch a Bus – A bus will be parked at the Rec Center for youngsters to board in advance of the first day of school to take the mystery out of it.

Attleboro Area Industrial Museum, 42 Union Street. The Industrial Museum will be hosting an open house for their fall STEM programming, and giving away 3D printed key chains.
Attleboro Arts Museum, 86 Park Street. Get those creative juices flowing as you get ready to return to the classroom! The Museum is hosting an artful scavenger hunt in its gallery. Please note, students must be accompanied by an adult. Please enter the museum through the Emory St. (rear) entrance.
Attleboro Boy Scout Troop 4906 and Cub Scout Troop 33, Balfour Park will provide fun, interactive activities, including a cooperative balance game and inflatable bow and arrow range.
Attleboro Girl Scouts Troop 4905, Balfour Park. The Girl Scouts will have a tent, demonstrations and activities in Balfour Park on the library side.
Attleboro Jewelers, 35 County Street Fun activities for families, including drawings and prizes for children and adults. (offered from 12-1pm)

Family Resource Center, 29 North Main Street.Enjoy an open house and tote bag painting while learning about the services and programming offered by the Center. The Greater Attleboro Council for Children will also be on site offering free haircuts for Christmas is For Kids participants. Stay tuned for reservation details.
Kimochi. 1 Park Street Kimoshi will have magic scratch keychain, bookmark, and magnet crafts starting at 11am. They are also offering “buy 2 drinks, get 1 free” all day.

Riverwalk Arts, meet at 10 on the library side entrance to Balfour Park for a city hike along the 10-Mile river.
