The APL Library of Things!

The APL is always expanding its Library of Things collection.  What is a “library of things,” you might ask? It’s a collection of unusual items you may not think a library would have, but can provide enjoyment, recreation, and/or education.

Attleboro’s collection consists of several kinds of kits, including MOBYpacks, which are nature-themed backpacks filled with books and hands-on tools, games, and manipulatives to explore the outdoors; Bilingual Backpacks, which offer hands-on materials and good books to help you learn a second language like Spanish, Arabic, or ASL; and the Everyone Explores kits that have a specific sensory focus and contain anything from toys and manipulatives to weighted vests and blankets.

The Library of Things also has robots to contribute to STEM learning.  And let’s not forget the all-time favorite Ukulele kits with a guide and DVD to learn to play! If anything is piquing your interest, you can search here using the SAILS catalog.

Finally, the APL has lots of board games and jigsaw puzzles for all ages to take home and try out with the family.  Search here for games and here for puzzles–and have a blast enjoying the Library of Things!
