Board Game Night Can Help Cure Boredom for Teens & Tweens!

The APL has recently invested in some thrilling new board games and has been testing them in teen & tween programs with great feedback! The games are a mixture of traditional tabletop & strategy games along with others that get youth up and moving, acting out scenarios with uproarious results. For this reason, we have decided to hold a program dedicated to board game play this month for youth in grades 5-12. On Wednesday, January 31, 2018 from 6pm-8pm, youth who attend will have the opportunity to join their peers in playing the great games the library owns, or bring their own to share if they have a favorite. There will be snacks & games, which is sure to mean a good time! This is a great opportunity for youth to work on social skills, meet new friends, learn to be a team player & how to be a gracious winner AND loser.

This program is open to youth in grades 5-12, and does require registration. Please visit our registration page to sign up!

Here are some great examples of board games that have been a hit with teens & tweens at the library:

Apples to Apples

The Settlers of Catan

Exploding Kittens

Ticket to Ride

Pandemic

Reverse Charades
