Meet Carrie Sylvia, Assistant Reference Librarian

Attleboro's New Assistant Reference Librarian, Carrie Sylvia

Attleboro’s New Assistant Reference Librarian, Carrie Sylvia

My name is Carrie Sylvia, and I’m the new Assistant Reference Librarian here at the Attleboro Public Library. I am very excited to be joining the wonderful library staff and to be part of the Attleboro community.

My interest in librarianship began while I was an undergraduate student at The Lesley University College of Art and Design, working as a work-study student at the circulation desk in the art library. I went on to earn a BFA in Graphic Design and worked professionally as a graphic designer for 7 years before deciding that I missed working in a library! I’m currently in the process of earning my Master of Library and Information Science from Simmons College, and couldn’t be happier!

My ideal winter afternoon consists of my two dogs by my side, a cup of tea in hand, and a good book in my lap. I love to hear about what other people are reading and always welcome a good book recommendation. My favorite authors include Roald Dahl, Neil Gaiman and Carson McCullers.

Want help locating the perfect book for the holidays? Need assistance using the library’s computers or loading an e-book onto your iPad? Find me at the Reference Desk on the second floor and I’d be happy to help!
