El día de los niños/El día de los libros (Children’s Day/Book Day), commonly known as Día, is a celebration of children, families, and reading. Día is a nationally recognized initiative that emphasizes the importance of literacy for all children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds. It is a daily commitment to linking children and their families to diverse books, languages, and cultures.
This year the library will be celebrating all month long with a global book talk walk, a world flag scavenger hunt, a literacy opinion poll for kids and color-in bookmarks. You can find booklists on the American Library Association’s Dia website, or ask one of our staff members for recommendations. Stop by the Children’s Room any time the library is open to participate in these fun activities!
