While the APL is busy all year long, it really gets busy when the summer reading programs begin! This year, we will launch the “Level Up at Your Library” Summer Reading Program at the Communitywide Summer Reading Kickoff on Friday, June 20, from 1:30-3PM in the Balfour Riverwalk Park. In addition to signing up for the APL Summer Reading Program, you can enjoy crafts, activities, and a parade led by student musicians in the Attleboro High School Marching Band. Community partners from across the city, including the Recreation Department, Attleboro Public Schools, and the Attleboro Norton YMCA, will be there to add to the fun and festivities.
Make the Library your place to LEVEL UP this summer. This year’s summer reading program is based around puzzles and games. Whether you’re playing with STEM concepts, solving fun mysteries, or learning to play new board or role-playing games, the library is not just a space for knowledge, but also a space for fun!
There are programs for all ages, including outdoor play, puppet shows, adult crafternoons, a program from Mass Audubon, music from Elijah T. Grasshopper Band, and SO MUCH MORE. Check out the Events page to find out about all the programs being offered.
Registration begins at the kickoff on June 20. Check out our Summer Reading page for everything you need to know.
If you’re looking for titles on your school’s summer reading list, the APL has multiple displays with copies of these books. If your child is entering grades 1-8 in the Attleboro Public Schools, the displays will be in the Children’s Room, whereas high school lists will be available in displays on the third floor in the young adult section.
Finally, you can win prizes–and bragging rights–for reaching your reading goals, so please visit us throughout the summer!
This year’s summer reading fun is sponsored by the Attleboro Public Library, the Friends of Attleboro Library, the Massachusetts Library System, the Boston Bruins, and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, Read, Renew, Repeat © 2025, iREAD
