Spring is a perfect time to borrow a MOBYpack, themed backpacks filled with books and hands-on tools that families can use together to explore the world around them. MOBY stands for “My Own Back Yard,” and each blue backpack has a nature theme, including stars, trees, and insects.
To promote literacy, there is also a journal within each MOBYpack that can be used to write or draw about your experiences while using the pack. This also acts as a wonderful, “pay-it-forward” way to encourage future borrowers on how to use the backpack.
Each MOBYpack may be borrowed for two weeks. Visit the Children’s Room to start your investigations, whether in your backyard or a nearby field or park!
