Celebrate the Freedom to Read, Saturday, September 28

The Attleboro Public Library is dedicated to providing information and entertainment to the city. On the building’s front entrance, etched in stone, is the phrase “Free to All,” the core of the Library’s work. Library staff create collections and programs that support this mission while providing materials and services that include multiple perspectives promoting critical thinking and meaningful dialogue. The American Library Association promotes this cause as well, sharing that there is “freedom in the pages of a book.” With censorship on the rise, the Attleboro Public Library is particularly sensitive to providing access to materials while educating the community on the importance of Intellectual Freedom.

We invite you to celebrate the Freedom to Read with us on Saturday, September 28, at 2pm, when select members of the community read poems from the children’s collection Woke: A Young Poet’s Call to Justice. Light refreshments will be served. Please RSVP to reserve your seat by emailing aplprograms@sailsinc.org.
