There are new friends hanging around in the Children’s Room! Where, you might ask? Hint: You need to look up!
Located near the front windows in the preschool section of the room are two murals created by local artist Jason Sawtelle of BlackBeak Studios. The murals feature multiple animals from two different environments–the ocean and a rainforest. What makes the murals even more interesting is that they are created as windows, making it look like the viewer is entering a new landscape. In addition to the murals’ beauty, activities were created to help you learn more about the animals depicted in them.
The APL team is grateful to the Attleboro Cultural Council and the Friends of Attleboro Public Library for their support in bringing Jason to the library for this effort. So the next time you’re at APL, “swing” by the Children’s Room for views into two new worlds!
