Throughout March, APL will have a variety of activities and programs for families to enjoy connected to the solar eclipse occurring on Monday, April 8. Stop by at your leisure to participate in some solar, star, and planetary fun–and to get a free pair of glasses to wear when the eclipse occurs! Here are some examples, but you can find them all on our Events tab:
– A space fact walk in the Children’s Room is available for youth ages 2-18 to enjoy. Walk through the room to learn facts and collect letters that you will combine to make a larger word. Turn in your completed form to be entered to win an alien Squishmallow at the end of the month!
– A solar eclipse model take-home kit for children ages 3-9 the week of March 11-15. Ask for yours in the Children’s Room.
– A lunar nightlight take-and-make kit for adults (18 and older) the week of March 18-22.
– A family glow party during the afternoon of Friday, March 29. Wear your white or neon color clothes for an even greater glow-in-the-dark experience!
– And of course, book displays of space-related fiction and non-fiction titles!
