Update on Library Services

Whew, it’s been a busy few weeks! Thank you to our wonderful community for all the kind words as we work hard to continue to offer our services to the best of our ability.

Although our building remains closed to the public at this time, the Attleboro Public Library has begun implementing a phased reopening plan based on city and state guidelines, as well as available PPE and cleaning supplies. Please see below for our latest updates. Phone lines are open from 8:30am-4:30pm on Mon/Tues/Wed/Fri, 12:30-8:30pm on Thursdays, and 8:30-1:30pm on Saturdays. Please call us for assistance with any of our new procedures.

Curbside Pickup: Curbside pickup is offered by appointment only. A variety of day and evening touchless pick-up times are available. If you receive a notification that a hold is available, please call the Library to schedule a convenient pick-up time. Further details on curbside pickup procedures will be provided at that time. For the safety of staff and other patrons, please do not stop by the Library without an appointment.  

Requesting Items: Library delivery service has resumed which means that items throughout the SAILS network can be placed on hold through our online catalog or the SAILS app. Though in-library browsing is not currently available, staff are here to help you find your next great read! Fill out our simple Readers Advisory form and a librarian will provide you with a list of suggested titles or pull from those readily available within our building. At this time, our statewide and nationwide lending programs, Commonwealth Catalog and Interlibrary Loan, are not yet available.

Returning Items: Our outdoor bookdrop is open 24/7 to accept your returns. All items (including media and hotspots) are allowed in the bookdrop until further notice. If a bulky item does not fit in the drop, please contact the Library to arrange for this item to be returned.

All library returns are being placed in quarantine for a minimum of 72 hours based on the latest health recommendations. Please note that these items will continue to show as “checked-out” on your library card until the quarantine period has ended. Overdue fines are not being charged on any returns until further notice. You may disregard any automated messages regarding these items if received prior to the end of the quarantine. Of course, feel free to call the Library during business hours with any questions or concerns regarding your returns.

Print/Copy/Scan/Fax Services: The Library is not currently offering print/copy/scan/fax services. We recommend contacting one of the local businesses below if you are in need of any of these services.

At this time, we do not have an anticipated date for reopening our building to the public.
