Meet Elise LaForge, Your New Reader Services Coordinator!

My name is Elise LaForge and I am the new Reader Services Coordinator at the Attleboro Public Library! I am very excited to be here at the APL and I am very much looking forward to working with the staff and greater Attleboro community.

Five years ago I stumbled into librarianship and knew soon after that the public library was where I was destined to be. After I finished my undergraduate degree in psychology I began pursuing my master degree in Library and Information Science. One thing I absolutely love about working in a library is discussing books. I have been an avid reader and library user as long as I can remember and there is nothing I enjoy more than giving and receiving great reading recommendations. I will read quite literally anything, in any format I can get it, but my favorite genres are romance, fantasy, science-fiction, and graphic novels. My favorite read of 2016 so far is definitely Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo, a fantasy heist story featuring a motley team of criminals led by the formidable Kaz “Dirty Hands” Brekker. Currently I am listening to Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel on audiobook and I am really enjoying it. If you’d like to know what I am reading or what I am adding to my “To Read” list you can become my friend on GoodReads. You can also friend me on Facebook where I will be keeping you up to date on all the latest book-related news.  When not reading you are likely to find me knitting, crocheting, watching (and singing along to) Disney movies, or trying to convince my husband to add another member to our “fur family”.

If you are looking for a reading recommendation or would like to give me one you can find me on the second floor of the Attleboro Public Library. You can also fill out this form– it will be emailed directly to me and I will get back to you with some great reading suggestions!
